Infant

(3-18 months)

Our Infant “Nest” is a safe environment, lovingly created to allow babies to grow, develop and gain independence. Every detail, such as the home-like décor and materials in the classroom, are carefully chosen to support the child through the different stages of infancy. Experienced teachers speak in gentle tones and provide activities that encourage each child’s growth and development. Our babies are able to observe the ever-changing world in their classroom, listen to stories and songs, develop gross and fine motor skills, and develop language.
Infants are provided with a sense of security through loving, one-on-one interactions with our nurturing staff. We maintain daily communication with the parents and follow each child’s individual care instructions

Toddler

(18-36 months)

The first three years of a child’s life characterize one of the most important stages of human development. Toddler years especially are a time of immense cognitive, social and emotional growth. In a short time, your dependent little baby will transform into a competent, independent young child.
Our qualified and caring staff “follow the child”, meaning children are provided learning opportunities based on their interest, natural inclination and ability. We are here to guide children as they reach major developmental milestones – using sentences, toilet learning and independence.
Our Montessori toddler classroom supports your child’s dynamic development with a stimulating and nurturing environment. Our prepared environment provides inquisitive toddlers with many opportunities to move, touch, and discover. Students become more independents as they gain language skills and enhance their gross and fine motor coordination. The classroom is also where young children experience their first social contact with other children, learning patience, sharing and empathy.

Primary

(3-6 years)

Research has shown that the 90 percent of a child’s brain development occurs in the first 5 years of life. Every sight, every smell, every sound sets the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Through our Montessori TEEAMS Curriculum, children in our Primary classroom are provided opportunities to interact with a learning-rich environment, thus setting a solid foundation- rich vocabulary, reading skills, math skills- for further education.
What makes us different from traditional preschools and daycares?
  • Multi-age grouping of children ages 3 to 6 years – This three year, mixed-age grouping gives children the unique opportunity to succeed in a miniature community where mutual respect, sharing, caring, and self-reliance can thrive. Older children serve as mentors and role models for the younger ones. They reinforce their own knowledge and self-confidence by teaching and mentoring children younger than themselves.
  • Meticulously prepared environment – The Montessori teacher carefully prepares a learning environment that supports a child’s natural curiosity, encourages creativity, and aids in cooperative learning. In the class, materials, equipment, and tasks are carefully chosen to do just that. Young children are taught individually and in small groups.
  • Individualized curriculum – Each child is free to choose any work she or he is introduced to from the different areas of the classroom. Each child has the freedom to observe, explore, and interact with the inviting and colorful materials in the classroom, thereby acquiring knowledge through play. Children are allowed to learn at their own pace.
  • Support of the “Whole Child” – Students are engaged in lessons from a variety of subject areas, including Life Skills, Sensory Stimulation, Math, Language, Science, Geography, Art, Spanish, Music and Physical Education. In addition to cognitive skills, children in our Primary classroom build social skills, self-help skills and emotional intelligence.

Kindergarten

programs_kindergarten
Kindergarten is not the start of school. Rather, in the Montessori Primary classroom, it is the culmination of years of hard work!
The early childhood curriculum is a three-year cycle, in which each step of a child’s development and learning provides a solid foundation for the next step. During the first-year students are beginners; exploring and absorbing knowledge from their environment. The second-year students are more independent and comfortable in the classroom. They learn to interact with both older and younger children. The third-year students are the leaders in the classroom.
The multi-age grouping allows students to be both a mentee and a mentor. Current research in neuroscience has proven that the brain evolves differently and better when you teach someone else something you have learned. Our kindergartners have the opportunity to be a mentor, thus growing their confidence and their brains!
Our Kindergartners continue to learn and are challenged through individualized instruction. No need to wait on others to catch up, no opportunity for boredom, no teaching to a test. In our Kindergarten program, there is no limit to learning!
